L003: Xenojack; "DEXCON's 11" by Jersey Represent. DEXCON 7 marks the first ever Golden Nerd award ceremony, where the biggest loser is the biggest winner. The biggest geek at the con wins the coveted statue and all the "prestige" that goes with it. However, if there's one thing the three swingin' aliens of the 'Jack Pack can't resist, it's a good heist. Phranq, Sam'ee, and D.No have turned over casino, bar, and bookie joint to gather an elite team of alien invaders to steal the Golden Nerd. And of course, wherever Phranq, Sam'ee, and D.No go, the interglactic bounty hunter known only as The Duke is sure to follow... This is a new direction for LARP, as Jersey Represent will have a camera crew on hand filming the proceedings in documentary style for a "reality TV show"-style episode of thier web-show Xenojack. Players should be forewarned that they will be filmed and placed on the web for this episode. Players in this LARP are encouraged to watch the epsiodes of Xenojack on http://www.xenojack.com before registering. Fans of lounge-era music, fifties swing, tailored suits, the Rat Pack, and casino acts are all more than welcome. It'll be a gas, baby! Players can play in as many of the three rounds as they'd like. For further information about the game or characterization, send eMail to revstomp@xenojack.com. Thursday, 3:00PM - 7:00PM; One Round; All Materials Provided. Beginners Welcome; Fun, All Ages. L004: "Tomb of the Greater Tome" by Ancient Empire. A great tome containing immense knowledge was locked away as the great wars started. The wars are long over and those who knew of it long dead. It would have vanished from the history if not for a brief mentioning in a letter to a wife 1400 years ago. Much knowledge has been lost since then so the value of the tome could be unimaginable. The only one who could know what it says is the strange sage requesting the party to find it. Is it worth the peril they will face? Learn about the intriguing boffer LARP, Ancient Empire, as they transform one of our ballrooms into a giant fantasy maze! Players will led by various hooks to each situation. The situations are designed to teach players how rituals, spell, actions etc. work. Further along, they will learn how to interact with each other and learn how the different types of characters are dependent on each other and team work. They will learn combat at another spot and also learn that role playing is not all hack and slash by actually being taught how to role play. Details of the religions and societies in the Ancient Empire world will be given in a quick glossed over fashion. Players are encouraged to show up in costume if possible. Players will be able to either make characters on-site or take pre-generated characters. Character and costume information can be found at: http://www.ancientempire.net. R178: The U.S. National CONTINUUM Championship. The CONTINUUM time travel RPG has earned, since its inception in the 1990s, critical praise and a core of loyal followers. Called "unusual" by the Sci-Fi Channel, and "unique and painfully satisfying" and "very cool" by player-reviewers on Amazon.com, CONTINUUM has broken new ground by logically solving every time travel conundrum, and actually made a civilization of time travellers outrageously playable. Players will be able to play the same character through three ranks of Span - growing from novices who are limited to a year's worth of travelling time, to ones who can travel a century in a single thought. The challenges will be commensurate with each rank of Span - Span Ones will have domestic villains and each other to watch out for. Span Two prefinalists will have to meet the goals of their time-travel Fraternities while not messing up their rival players' goals! And at last, the finalists will face the responsibilities of Span Threes who answer the call to battle in a last round so deadly serious thatŠ further information is not available here. Tournament Rules unique to the Championship, including how victory points are awarded, and the prize to the winning player are posted at http://aetherco.com/continuum/.
