A thematic abstract about ancient Chinese monks who travel the land trying to gain mastery of the five elements of nature (fire, water, wood, metal, earth). Players control their monks by moving them around the world, meditating at temples, and observing interactions between pairs of elements. By observing how wood can be used to grow a fire, a monk will gain mastery of fire. Play continues until a monk gains mastery of all five and achieves Enlightenment. A resource exploitation and tech tree building game set in an alternate western history powered by machines using steam and aether. Players utilize unique abilities of mechanics, prospectors and chemists as they attempt to corner markets on resources, race to discover new technologies and build mechanical wonders. Simple to teach new players, but with mechanics and strategies that will challenge experienced players, Mechanical Advantage packs a significant game experience. B086: [ALPHA TEST] "Mill City" presented by Eric Alvarado. It is the 1880's. Minneapolis, Minnesota is ideally situated along the Mississippi River near the powerful Saint Anthony Falls, and is in close proximity to the wheat fields of the Northern Plains. The combination of these two features propels the city in flour production and earns it the moniker of "Mill City". In Mill City, players each represent a milling company and are responsible for producing flour and shipping it via boxcars to distribution centers. After milling is completed, the flour is loaded into boxcars and shipped to distribution centers in the Midwest. The player who can successfully balance milling and shipping based on the available waterpower and shipping capacity, and invest in the rising distribution companies will be victorious. B087: [BETA TEST] "Mutology" by ThinkForm Games; presented by Jeremy Bartlett. A strategy card game for two geniuses. Players build a 40-card Mutology deck before sitting down to play. To win the game, players must collect five Research Point tokens by bringing double-sided Mutant cards into play using the cards in their deck and their unique Character card. A Mutology deck consists of Specimen, Radiation, Assistant, Device, and Procedure cards. Players automatically gain Concentration tokens at the start of their turn. During a phased turn, players spend these Concentration tokens to deploys cards from their hand into one of two zones. They will use the cards in these zones to work towards their deck’s strategy while combating their opponent so they cannot do the same. The bigger the launch vehicle the more points but also more prone to explode on the pad. The games incorporates hand management, take that and risk mitigation mechanics.
