R120: Call of Cthulhu; "Shadows" by Kevin Meares. For the team of USPR (United States Paranormal Research), a trek into a haunted house is a common experience. But when they are asked by a frantic family to investigate a newly built home, all the rules go out the window. The spirits here are violent and seem to delight in cruelty, and the newly built house seems to have no history that would explain the haunting. Can they resolve the matter before some thing truly disastrous happens? Drawing from the experiences of a paranormal investigator along with a variety of documented cases, this is an opportunity to try your hand at ghost hunting through the vehicle of role playing. R130: Dungeons & Dragons 3.5; "Send in the Guards!" by Robert Freeman. On the outskirts of the city of Varia, on top of a barren hill, lies a forgotten mansion, left to crumble from years of neglect. The barren land offered peasants no reason to seek its shelter, as none were desperate enough for it, and many whispered rumors of its dark, hidden past. Three days ago, a small group of travelling merchants no doubt thought themselves clever in choosing the old mansion as a place of refuge instead of paying an inn inside the city. Had their cart not been spotted by a nearby farmer, no one would have even known that they were there. Had the cart not still been there three days later, the farmer may have never even mentioned it to anyone. The guards, all relatively new recruits, were sent in to investigate, but just like the merchant travellers before them, they too disappeared without a single...Oh wait a minute. I'm getting ahead of myself. The guards haven't disappeared yet. I guess it's inevitable though. I mean, every adventure/horror story that involves strange disturbances, missing people and a foreboding house, always begin with the guards going in, immediately splitting up, and then getting picked off one by one. Then, after all those poor guards are dead, the heroes go in and save the day! Not that this helps you guys any. I mean, you 1st level characters of any race and class are just doing your jobs, protecting the public, and being the best guards you can be. Are you going to fulfill your stereotypes and be mercilessly slaughtered by the mysterious dark forces in the manor, or are you going to save the day? One way or the other, there are people who need to be rescued, and the city of Varia is sending in the guards! Friday, 8:00PM - 12:00AM; One Round; All Materials Offered. Beginners Welcome; Fun, All Ages. See Also: R150.

R132: HERO System, 5th Edition; "Beginning to Believe, Part One" by Joe Harris. Nemesis, the world's single deadliest force, has unleashed events to gain untimate power. R134: Call of Cthulhu; "Monsters" by Kevin Meares. There are perhaps no monsters in the world more widely known as the vampire and the werewolf. Every one knows them and the basics of how they work (silver sunlight, stakes through the heart, etc). Given that, come take a chance to go on a little hunt. Using Call of Cthulhu rules, this adventure will draw upon the older stories of what these creatures are like (i.e. far more akin to Dracula then Lestat) and may likely surprise a few who think they know the way it works! Friday, 12:00AM - 4:00AM; One Round; All Materials Provided. Beginners Welcome; Very Serious, 18 & Over ONLY.

R135: Paranoia XP; "There is No Emergency!" by Robert Freeman. There is no emergency! Repeat, there is no emergency! The computer that completely controls every aspect of our lives within this highly advanced utopian complex is in no way malfunctioning due to a virus planted by either Communists, mutants, anarchists or file sharers. Anyone who is caught spreading this information is to be executed immediately, unless they are of blue rank or higher, in which case they are just to be reminded to keep their mouths shut. Now, completely off topic, in response to the reports of life support failures, random vaporizations, scrubbing deaths, and people crying 'the humanity, oh the humanity!', the computer has responded by laughing hysterically, so it's obvious that nothing is amiss, and in response we're lowering the TERROR/THREAT COLOR INDEX from 'Absolutely Safe Blue' to 'Unbelievably Safe Indigo'. Also, completely off topic, we need volunteers of Red rank to help find a 'theoretical' solution to a major viral outbreak, should one ever actually occur, which is hasn't, with a penalty of death to anyone who would say otherwise. These volunteers are to make their way to room 5B-(Square Root of 61)X within five minutes of when this message started broadcasting. All those of Red rank who do not volunteer, will be executed. All other citizens are to go about their daily business and marvel at how unbelievably...*SELF DESTRUCT MODE ENGAGED*...safe we all are, and remember, the computer loves you!
